Bike Rodeo:
The looming thick black clouds on Thursday morning almost had us post-pone the bike rodeo, but once we began to see the multitudes of bikes coming to the school yard, we carried on. The sun came out to give us a lovely day for the obstacle course and safety checks. Thanks to the Saanich Police Department and volunteers for a successful Bike Rodeo 2012!
Bottle Drive:
Thanks to everyone who organized, volunteered and brought bottles to the 3rd annual Bottle Drive on Saturday, May 26th. The PAC raised $807!!! The tally will be added to the Encorp Recycling Tally for Rogers for the year! You can bring your bottles to the Glanford Bottle Depot and donate your bottles to Rogers Elementary to help us increase our recycling tally. The first place prize is $750! Seaquarium:
Please stop by to see the local sea creatures in our Seaquarium in the front foyer of the school!
Garden Beds:
There are nine garden beds at the back of the school at Rogers. Mrs. Gauk's and Mrs. Shortt's classes have planted some flowers in two of the garden beds. Gardening is bliss!
NEW TO THE BLOG: We are excited to announce that on the main blog we have installed the "Google translator" widget. This handy tool will allow people who have languages other than English as a first language to read our blog with ease in their first language!
